Uttarakhand Shocker: Minor Girls Abused, Assaulted In Bageshwar; 1 Arrested After Video Goes Viral

A disturbing video showing two minor girls being physically assaulted and verbally abused in a closed room has surfaced on social media. According to reports, the incident took place in the Kapkot block of Bageshwar district in Uttarakhand.

In the viral video, a man can be seen beating the two underage girls while verbally abusing them. The girls appear terrified and are seen crying throughout the ordeal.

The Bageshwar Police have responded to the viral video, commenting on a related social media post: "A case has been immediately registered at Kapkot police station regarding this matter, and one accused has been arrested. Efforts to arrest the remaining accused are ongoing."

According to reports, three suspects were attempting to flee in a car without a license plate. While trying to escape, they used criminal force against police officers. The driver was apprehended, but two other suspects managed to escape.

A case has been registered at Kapkot police station under the POCSO Act against the three accused. Police have filed charges under sections 74/115(2)/352/351(2) of the BNS and sections 7/8 of the POCSO Act.

SSI Khashti Bisht reported that 23-year-old Yogesh Gadiya, son of Kanchan Singh and resident of Khaibagad, has been arrested. The other suspects, Lucky Kathayat (son of Khushal Kathayat) and Deepak alias Daksh Farswana, both residents of Kapkot, managed to escape and are currently being pursued by law enforcement.

Kapkot Station Officer Jeevan Samant added that a case has also been registered against one Tanuj Gadiya. Meanwhile, Police Deputy Superintendent Ajay Sah confirmed that an FIR has been filed and a team has been formed to apprehend the remaining suspects.
