Sacked woman constable Amandeep tried to flee on seeing cops: FIR
The dismissed constable, Amandeep Kaur, who was arrested with around 18 gm of heroin, had allegedly attempted to escape from the spot on seeing the police party before she was apprehended by cops in Bathinda on Thursday evening.
As per the FIR copy, it is stated that the police party, along with the ANTF, had done barricading and was checking vehicles when a black Thar, bearing number Punjab-05-AQ-7720, was seen come from the Badal road. On seeing the police, the Thar stopped 50m from the police and a woman came out of the vehicle and tried to flee from the spot, but was swiftly apprehended by cops.
Meanwhile, sources claimed that Amandeep Kaur was not cooperating in the probe. A team from Mohali and SSP Bathinda Amneet Kondal herself have interrogated Amandeep, but she is not speaking anything. No incriminating document was recovered from the phones seized from her car on prima facie examination. Now all four mobile phones seized from the accused, two from her car and two from her home, have been sent to Digital Investigation Training and Analysis Centre (DITAC) for retrieving old data to establish her alleged links with drug trade and “patronage” of state government functionaries.
The authorities are currently compiling a detailed dossier of her bank transactions, property records and communication logs to uncover the full extent of her network and financial dealings.
Sources close to the probe stated that on the expensive watches seized from her, Amandeep Kaur said that her friend gifted these to her from abroad and she had not purchased any of these items.
