Projects worth Rs 45 lakh inaugurated in Fatehgarh Sahib govt schools

Under the campaign Punjab Sikhya Kranti, projects worth Rs 45 lakh were inaugurated in government schools of the district today. MLA Fatehgarh Sahib Lakhbir Singh Rai inaugurated development works done in four schools of the constituency at a cost of about Rs 33 lakh, whereas MLA Bassi Pathana Rupinder Singh Happy inaugurated boundary walls and a sports track of Government Elementary Smart School, Dhanaula, and Government Senior Secondary Smart School, Maneli, built at a cost of Rs 12 lakh.

The Public Relations Department was assigned the job to put up hoardings in all schools highlighting the achievements of the state government. The gathering includes schoolteachers, parents, AAP supporters and a political function.

Addressing the gatherings, MLAs said Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had initiated revolutionary steps in the field of education. They said a historical revolution of transformation had started in 12,000 government schools of the state from today, hailing the AAP government for increasing the budget of the education sector by 12 per cent.

They said with these steps the standard of education would also rise as students of government schools were being educated on the lines of private schools with ultra-modern facilities. He said the government had recruited about 20,000 teachers, and the students of the School of Eminence were being educated in various streams and prepared for various competitive exams. They urged the schoolteachers to use the facilities to brighten the future of the students so that students of government schools could also shine the name of their state and school by scoring big in competitive exams.
