1,900 plants set up under PM Surya Bijli Yojana
Sandeep Kumar, Managing Director, Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited, has said that 1,900 solar plants have been installed in the state under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Scheme.
“As many as 1,277 people, who have installed solar plants, have received a grant of Rs 10.92 crore,” he said while chairing the second vendor’s meeting in Shimla today.
He directed the officers present to establish direct contact with vendors and consumers to spread awareness and encourage participation in the scheme.
Sandeep Kumar said that the board would organise awareness programs across the state to educate consumers about the scheme’s benefits. He added that the board would augment its electricity supply network to accommodate the installation of more solar plants.
The Managing Director resolved problems of the vendors. The vendors’ meeting provided a platform to the stakeholders to discuss issues related to the scheme.
