J&K auto retail market posts modest growth in FY-25

JAMMU, Apr 7: The auto retail sales in Jammu and Kashmir UT have registered a growth of 3.74%.
This was announced by the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) while releasing the Vehicle retail data for FY’25 and March 2025 for the UT of Jammu and Kashmir.
For FY-25, the 2-Wheeler category witnessed a growth of 10.20% at 93,051 units in FY’25, as compared to 84,438 units in FY’24.
The 3-Wheeler category witnessed a downfall of -0.29% at 12,858 units in FY’25, as compared to 12,895 units in FY’24.
The Commercial Vehicle category witnessed a downfall of -9.97% at 10,657 units in FY’25, as compared to 11,837 units in FY’24.
The Passenger Vehicle category witnessed a downfall of -2.89% at 59,191 units in FY’25, as compared to 60,951 units in FY’24.
The Tractor Vehicle category witnessed a growth of 27.31% at 3,948 units in FY’25, as compared to 3,101 units in FY’24.
In total the retail is 1, 79,705 in FY’25 compared to it is 1, 73,222 in FY’24 thereby registering a growth of 3.74%.
For March 2025, the 2-Wheeler category witnessed a growth of 0.29% at 6,625 units in March 2025, as compared to 6,606 units in March 2024.
The 3-Wheeler category witnessed a downfall of -17.80% at 1,025 units in March 2025, as compared to 1,247 units in March 2024.
The Commercial Vehicle category witnessed a downfall of -12.53% at 1,159 units in March 2025, as compared to 1,325 units in March 2024.
The Passenger Vehicle category witnessed a growth of 8.27% at 5,236 units in March 2025, as compared to 4,836 units in March 2024.
The Tractor Vehicle category witnessed a downfall of -1.98% at 346 units in March 2025, as compared to 353 units in March 2024.
In total the retail is 14,391 in March’25 compared to it is 14,367 in March’24 thereby registering a growth of 0.17%.
In a press statement issued, Sanjay Aggarwal, Chairperson, FADA said that in financial year 2025 J&K witnessed a minor growth of 3.74% in automobile retail as compared to last financial year.
