The five-day state-level Suket Devta Fair, held annually during the Chaitra Navratri at Sundernagar in Mandi district, concluded yesterday. The fair, which is a significant cultural event for the region, witnessed the participation of numerous devotees and visitors from across the state.

The closing ceremony was presided over by Mandi Deputy Commissioner (DC) Apoorv Devgan, who took part in grand festivities. He began his visit by offering prayers at the Mahamaya Temple. Subsequently, he participated in the grand procession of deities, which started from the temple and proceeded to Jawahar Park Mela Ground. On the occasion of Navami, Devgan also attended Kanjak Pujan at the Krishak Training Centre Community Hall. During the event, he launched a commemorative table book highlighting the significance of the Suket Devta Fair and the cultural heritage of the region. He praised the initiative and expressed his admiration for the efforts put into preserving the traditions of the fair. Besides, he presented “chaddars” to visiting deities as a token of respect.
