No laxity in redressing public grievances, Rohtak DC tells officers

Rohtak Deputy Commissioner Dhirendra Khadgata has instructed the administrative officers to ensure that the people coming to the Samadhan Shivir to get their grievances redressed return home with complete satisfaction.

Listening to the problems of the residents at a Samadhan Shivir organised at the local Mini-Secretariat on Monday, the Deputy Commissioner directed the heads of all government departments to ensure their presence at the samadhan camps.

He also ordered that show-cause notices be issued to the officers who were absent from Monday’s camp.

“The underlying idea behind holding these camps is to make the life of the common people easy by ensuring that they do not have to make rounds of government offices for routine matters," said the Deputy Commissioner.

Pointing out that Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini was personally monitoring the samadhan camps, Khadgata stated that no officer should show negligence or laxity in resolving public problems.

The Chief Minister had recently conducted a surprise inspection of samadhan camps through videoconferencing recently.

During the inspection, Saini interacted with the residents who had reached the samadhan camps in various districts to get their grievances redressed.

The Deputy Commissioner stated that as per the guidelines of the state government, Samadhan Shivir is at present being organised twice a week, on Mondays and Thursdays from 10 am to 12 noon.

The settlement of complaints received in these camps is also reviewed every Friday. Samadhan Shivir is being organised at the district headquarters and subdivision level to resolve public complaints related to various departments under one roof.

Officers of all departments are present at the Samadhan Shivir, so that the complaints related to various departments can be resolved promptly.

As per the Deputy Commissioner, the complaints related to policy decisions are sent to the Chief Secretary’s office so that the state authorities can resolve these.

The Chief Minister has categorically stated that if the complainants have to go to samadhan camps repeatedly for resolution of the same matter, then the officers concerned will be held accountable.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Narendra Kumar, Chief Executive Officer of Zila Parishad Pradeep Kumar, City Magistrate Ankit Kumar, Ground Water Scientist Dalbir Rana, District Social Welfare Officer Mahabir Godara, Family Welfare Officer Suresh Bhardwaj, District Welfare Officer Renu Sisodia and other officers were present.

Night-stay programme benefits residents

The night-stay programmes of the district officers at villages are also proving beneficial for the locals. In one such instance at Sunderpur village in Rohtak district, a village resident Monika approached the Deputy Commissioner and told him about the hearing impairment of her daughter. Deputy Commissioner Dhirendra Khadgata directed the Secretary of the District Red Cross Society on the spot to provide hearing aid to the girl.

Following that, the Secretary of the District Red Cross Society, Shyam Sunder, reached the village along with his team and provided hearing aid to the girl at her doorstep. The girl’s family as well as the village sarpanch have expressed their gratitude to the district administration.
