Summer's onset in Pune annually brings not just elevated heat but also a spike in fire incidents. Every year, Pune's fire department data highlights a strong correlation between high temperatures and different fire risks, such as electrical faults, waste and debris blazes, wildfires, and car fires.

On Sunday, a fire broke out in a traditional wooden house, commonly known as a wada, in the Nana Peth locality of Pune city.

No injuries or casualties were reported in the incident.

Chief Fire Officer Devendra Potphode told ANI that since no one had lived in the wooden house for the last ten years, there had been no reported casualties in the incident. Although the fire did not spread to any neighboring buildings, residents of those buildings were evacuated as a precaution.
