High alert sounded as Danger looms over Iran, Supreme Leader Khamenei orders military to…, Donald Trump plans to…
New Delhi: Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has ordered the country’s armed forces to be on high alert, raising questions about whether Iran is again under the threat of attack. According to the reports, an Iranian official has revealed that Iran has sent messages to Iraq, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Turkey, and Bahrain, warning that if they assist the United States in any way during an attack, it will be considered an act of hostility and will be met with a corresponding response.
It is important to note that the order from Khamenei comes at a time when it is being claimed that Israel and the United States are preparing to attack Iran.
According to a Reuters report, Iran has warned Iraq, Kuwait, the UAE, Qatar, Turkey, and Bahrain that if they allow the US to use their airspace, there will be serious consequences. The official also said that Iran has rejected direct talks with the U.S. over the nuclear deal, but it is willing to continue indirect negotiations through Oman.
On March 7, US President Donald Trump stated that he had sent a proposal to Khamenei for talks. On March 30, the American leader said that if negotiations fail, he would impose extra tariffs on Iran within two weeks. However, he also warned that if Iran does not comply, there will be a “rain of bombs.”
Warning to Neighboring Muslim Countries
In response, Khamenei said that he does not trust American military intervention but warned that any attempt by Washington to incite unrest in Iran would be thwarted. Earlier, in October 2024, Israel had carried out airstrikes on Iranian military bases, to which Iran retaliated with ballistic missiles. According to a report by The New York Times, Khamenei recently instructed the National Security Council to prepare for a counterattack on Israel.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also claimed that their strikes had weakened Iran’s air defense system. This has heightened Iran’s concerns about its national security. Experts on the Middle East believe that Khamenei’s move is an attempt to send a strong message to Israel that Iran will respond firmly to any act of aggression.
