BR Ambedkar’s statue vandalised

A statue of Dr BR Ambedkar was vandalised at Dr Ambedkar Chowk in Jagraon on Saturday night. The incident occurred when an individual threw a stone, shattering the glass cover protecting the statue.

DSP (City) Jasjyot Singh and SHO, City police station, inspector Virendra Pal Singh, reached the scene to initiate a probe into the matter.

The Ludhiana rural police, in collaboration with social organisations, removed the broken glass and replaced it with a new one while ensuring communal harmony among residents.

SSP, Ludhiana Rural, Ankur Gupta, confirmed that the perpetrator, identified as Hargurpreet Singh from Indra Colony in Jagraon, was apprehended by the authorities and further investigation was launched in the case.
