Saudi Arabia: Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has instructed officials to ensure that everything is done in a safe and systematic manner during the Haj pilgrimage. Keeping this in mind, visa rules have now been made more strict.

Saudi Arabia: Saudi Arabia has taken a big step. The Foreign Ministry of Saudi Arabia has temporarily banned the issuance of some visas to people from a total of 14 countries including India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. Under this ban, Umrah, business and family visas have been banned. This ban will continue till mid-June.

Step taken for Hajj

Saudi authorities have taken this step so that people cannot participate in Hajj without proper registration. Officials said that many people reach Saudi Arabia on Umrah or visitor visa and then try to participate in Hajj by staying illegally, which is against the rules. This ban has been imposed to keep the Hajj process organized and regular.

Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has instructed officials to ensure that everything is done in a safe and orderly manner during the Haj pilgrimage. Keeping this in mind, visa rules have now been tightened further. Under the new system, foreign nationals will now be able to apply for Umrah visa only till April 13. After this date, no new Umrah visa will be issued until the Haj pilgrimage is completed.

Ban imposed on 14 countries

Saudi Arabia has temporarily banned some visas for India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iraq, Nigeria, Jordan, Algeria, Sudan, Ethiopia, Tunisia, Yemen and another unnamed country. The decision has been taken after the tragic incidents during the 2024 Haj pilgrimage, where more than 1,000 people died. Many of these pilgrims had participated in the Haj without registration.

The condition of the people was made even worse due to the crowd and intense heat. Keeping this in mind, Saudi authorities have decided that pilgrims without registration will be barred from participating in Hajj, so that loss of life and property can be prevented in future.

Saudi Arabia has launched a digital guide to make Hajj and Umrah travel easier and safer, which is available in 16 different languages. The purpose of this initiative is that every pilgrim can get the right guidelines and they do not face any problem during their religious journey. Along with this, Saudi officials have also made it clear that those who stay in the country without permission during Hajj will not be allowed to enter Saudi Arabia for five years.

The officials have appealed to all the people to follow the rules and proceed only through correct registration to participate in Hajj, so that the journey remains safe and organized.
