Helmed by Prasath Varma and bankrolled by actor Nani under his production house, Wall Poster Cinema, Awe boasts an extensive cast of 9 actors including Nani, Ravi Teja, Kajal Aggarwal, Nithya Menen, Regina Cassandra, Eesha Rebba, Srinivas Avasarala, Priyadarshi, Murli Sharma and more. With such a talented cast, expectations from this film were naturally sky-high.

When unveiling the trailer on social media, Nani shared that he was so captivated by its script that he decided to produce the film himself. This off-beat film tackles complex psychological issues and social problems like child abuse, sexual abuse, drug addiction, and lesbianism. Upon its release in 2018, Awe received positive response from critics for its gripping narrative and powerful performances.

It was even recognised at the 66th National Film Awards, winning accolades for Best Special Effects and Best Make-Up. Despite being made in modest budget, Awe grossed approximately Rs 9.45 crore in its opening weekend. With an impressive rating of 7.6 on IMDb, it beats other suspenseful thriller films.
