70 pro-Awami League lawyers jailed, to face assault charges over 2024 anti-govt protests

A Dhaka court ordered 70 lawyers, supporters of the Awami League party, to prison for their involvement in the assault and attempted murder of fellow advocates during last year's uprising. While granting bail to nine female lawyers and a former bar president, the court rejected the bail pleas of the others.
