Cong MLAs upset with babus
Ambala: Congress MLAs seem to be unhappy with government officials as they allegedly do not get a prompt and appropriate response from them. Recently, Congress MLA from Ambala City Nirmal Singh expressed his displeasure in his letters sent to the Assembly Speaker and the Chief Secretary, stating that the “bureaucrats under the BJP rule were disregarding the elected representatives". Earlier, Thanesar MLA Ashok Arora and Shahabad MLA Ram Karan Kala also expressed their unhappiness with the functioning of officials. Arora had remarked that the officials are not following the protocol and the Chief Secretary should issue directions to the officials.
BJP’s Cong-bashing continues
Bhiwani: It seems that taking jibes at the Congress has become a favourite activity of BJP leaders, with Bhiwani district BJP president Virender Kaushik latest to follow the trend. Speaking to the media on Sunday, Kaushik said the Congress had completely lost its relevance as well as organisational structure in Haryana. He added that the Congress had neither a functional leadership nor a working organisation. “They haven’t been able to appoint a district president in the last 14-15 years,” he said, claiming that many former Congress workers have now accepted that the BJP’s tenure has been effective and are praising the BJP for delivering on promises.
PM’s visit on, garbage gone!
Yamunanagar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s proposed visit to Yamunanagar on April 14 is proving a boon for the twin cities of Yamunanagar and Jagadhri. The twin cities are being cleared of heaps of garbage to make them look spick and span. The beautification work of the twin cities is being carried out on a war footing. The local municipal workers are engaged in maintaining cleanliness, repairing roads, trimming trees and carrying out other beautification works round the clock. Local residents maintain that the twin cities are witnessing a marked improvement in sanitation and beautification owing to the Prime Minister’s proposed visit.
Karnal mayor gives old projects priority
Karnal: After assuming office, Renu Bala Gupta, who has been elected as mayor for the third consecutive time, has decided to complete the developmental works approved during her previous tenure instead of ignoring those. The mayor has taken a step to execute the pending projects that remained stuck in files during the previous term. She has written to the state authorities for the e-auctioning of 169 vacant plots of the Karnal Municipal Corporation, the resolution for which was passed two years ago. Fixing the city’s drainage system, improving streetlights and sanitation are her top priorities.
