Govt committed to prosperity of Delhi residents, says Rekha

The BJP celebrated its 46th foundation day on Sunday with fervour at the Delhi BJP headquarters, marking the first such occasion since the party came to power in the national capital after 27 years.

Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva and Chief Minister Rekha Gupta jointly hoisted the party flag and lit a ceremonial lamp to inaugurate the celebrations at the state party office. Addressing the gathering, both leaders congratulated party workers and lauded their commitment that led to the party’s historic electoral win in Delhi.

Felicitating 38 staff members of the state office for their dedication during the election campaign, Sachdeva said, “Our journey began in 1980. It is due to the hard work and dedication of millions of karyakartas that the BJP today stands as the world’s largest political party. We are fortunate to be guided by the charismatic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the patient leadership of BJP National President JP Nadda.”

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, in her address, reiterated the party’s commitment to Delhi’s development. “BJP workers are devoted to nation-building. It was their tireless efforts that brought the party to power in Delhi after 27 years. Our government is committed to the social uplift and prosperity of Delhi’s people, and will work to implement the party’s core principles at every level,” she said.

The event saw the presence of several senior leaders, including Union Minister of State Harsh Malhotra, MPs Manoj Tiwari, Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, Yogendra Chandolia, Bansuri Swaraj and Praveen Khandelwal. MLAs, councillors, state general secretaries, vice-presidents and hundreds of party workers were also present.

Foundation day celebrations were also held simultaneously across all 14 BJP districts in Delhi where senior leaders addressed gatherings of local workers and office-bearers. From Shahdara to Najafgarh and Chandni Chowk to Mehrauli, leaders emphasised party unity and the vision of “nation first, party second, self last.”

CM Rekha Gupta said the BJP’s mission in Delhi was to ensure inclusive development and continue working towards the vision of making India a global leader. “We are inspired by the guidance of our mentors. Under the leadership of PM Modi and JP Nadda, we are striving to build a prosperous, modern Delhi,” she added.
