19-year-old girl dies by suicide

A 19-year-old girl has allegedly died by hanging herself in Nerwa tehsil in Shimla district.

The deceased has been identified as Ritika (19), daughter of Chunni Lal and a resident of Chaflan village in Chopal. According to reports, the girl was found hanging in her rented room. She was working in a nearby hotel in the area. A police team reached the spot as soon as it received the information and recovered the body.

The body was then taken to Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC), Shimla, for postmortem. Theog DSP Siddharth Sharma confirmed the report and said a case has been registered and further investigation is going on.
