Yamunanagar DC visits grain markets to take stock of procurement arrangements
Deputy Commissioner Parth Gupta visited grain markets (mandis) in Chhachhrauli, Bilaspur and Jagadhri of the district to take stock of procurement arrangements.
During his visit, he spoke to farmers and commission agents (arthiyas) and listened to their problems.
He instructed the officials of the procurement agencies present on the spot that the farmers should not face any kind of problem in the grain markets.
He also asked the officials concerned to ensure that all kinds of basic facilities were provided to the farmers in the grain markets.
“I also instructed the officials of the departments concerned to pay special attention to cleanliness in the grain markets,” said Gupta.
He appealed to the farmers and commission agents that they should work in mutual cooperation and coordination with the administration.
“According to the standards set by the government, the crops of the farmers will be purchased at the minimum support price. I appeal to the farmers that they should bring the crops to the market after drying and cleaning them, so that their crops can be purchased by government agencies at the MSP,” said Gupta.
He also instructed the officials of the market committee and purchasing agencies that along with the work of purchasing; the lifting work of wheat should also be done on time so that the farmers didn’t have to face any problem in unloading their crops on the premises of the grain markets.
On the occasion, Jagadhri SDM Sonu Ram, Chhachhrauli SDM Rohit Kumar, Bilaspur SDM Jaspal Singh Gill, District Food and Supply Controller Jitesh Goyal, DIPR Dr Manoj Kumar, Ishwar Singh Rana, Shishpal Gauri and other officials of the district administration were present.
