In a major setbackf for Zomato, its Chief Operating Officer (COO), Rinshul Chandra, has resigned from the company. Chandra, considered a close-aide of Zomato founder and CEO, Deepinder Goyal, said he was stepping down as the COO of the online food delivery giant, to “pursue new opportunities and passions”.
“It has been an incredibly fulfilling journey over the past seven years, and I am truly grateful for the trust, support, and opportunities I’ve received during my time here. I wish our world-class teams at Eternal the very best,” Rinshul Chandra wrote in his resignation letter, according to an exchange filing on Saturday.
As per the filing, April 7, 2025 (Monday), will mark Rinshul Chandra’s last working day at Zomato.
Zomato is now ‘Eternal’
Notably, Zomato Ltd recently approved its name change to ‘Eternal’ to mark its expanding business portfolio. In February, Zomato founder Deepinder Goyal told shareholders that name change would only apply to the company, not the brand or the mobile app itself.
According to reports, Zomato’s four core verticals — its flagship food delivery service, quick-commerce platform Blinkit, B2B supplies business Hyperpure, and its dining-out platform District– will now be included under the ‘Eternal’ umbrella.
The name change is reportedly set to come into effect on April 9, 2025.
