Mukesh Ambani, Nita Ambani may have to vacate their Rs 15000 crore residence Antilia due to…
Antilia, the lavish residence of Mukesh Ambani, Nita Ambani and Akash Ambani along with other family members is one of the most luxurious homes of the country. Reportedly worth Rs 15000 crore, the Mumbai located residence is once again in news. Not because of its luxurious features or high-profile owners but due to a historic property dispute. Recently, the Waqf Amendment Bill was passed in the Parliament and was later given approval by the President of India but an update grabbing the most headlines is the allegation that Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani’s Antilia is built on Waqf board land. Scroll down to read the full story regarding the age-old property dispute.
Antilia, one of the most expensive properties of India, located on the Parade Road area of Mumbai, is claimed to have been built on the land of the Waqf Board. As per a report by TV9 Hindi, Mukesh Ambani bought a plot of four and a half lakh square feet from the Waqf Board for about Rs 21 crores in the year 2002.
However, the land deal came into controversy due to the Waqf Board’s claim as according to a Action Taken Report (ATR) presented in the Maharashtra Assembly, the property of the Waqf Board cannot be sold for private use. Moreover, Karim Bhai Ibrahim, the earlier owner of the land had given the land to the Waqf Board for religious education and to build an orphanage, which was not the case in this transaction, as the land was reportedly sold to billionaire Mukesh Ambani.
The matter has been pending in the Supreme Court of India for a long time and if the decision goes against the Ambani family, they might have to vacate the land.

In a historic development, President Droupadi Murmu gave her assent to the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2025, which was passed by Parliament earlier this week after heated debates in both Houses. Notably, Murmu also gave her assent to the Mussalman Wakf (Repeal) Bill, 2025, as per a report by news agency PTI.
“The following Act of Parliament received the assent of the president on April 5, 2025, and is hereby published for general information: The Waqf (Amendment) Act, 2025,” the government said in a notification.
