With unwavering determination, he turned that dream into reality by securing All India Rank(AIR) 2 in JEE Advanced, along with AIR 14 in JEE Mains. Well, he is Himanshu Gaurav Singh.

Himanshu Gaurav Singh, who achieved an impressive AIR 2 in JEE Advanced, hails from Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. He completed his schooling at a private institution in his hometown. From an early age, Himanshu was deeply passionate about mathematics and never found it intimidating — in fact, he found joy in solving complex problems. Ever since childhood, Himanshu had nurtured the dream of studying at an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), and through unwavering determination and hard work, he made it come true.

Prior clearing JEE Advanced, Himanshu had already made his mark by securing AIR14 in the JEE Main exam held in January 2019, scoring a perfect 100 percentile, as reported by News18 Hindi report. Himanshu shares a special bond with mathematics, which he considers both exciting and easy. From a young age, he was fortunate to have excellent math teachers whose engaging and simplified teaching methods made the subject enjoyable and accessible for him.

According to a report in News18 Hindi, Himanshu’s father, Lav Kush Singh, is a teacher at a government polytechnic institute, whereas his mother, Rupa Singh, is a homemaker. Apart from his studies, Himanshu also enjoys playing badminton, which helps him stay mentally refreshed and energized.

According to his LinkedIn profile, he worked as a Software Engineering Intern at NK Securities Research in 2021. Furthermore, he interned as a Quantitative Trading Intern at Tower Research Capital. In 2023, Himanshu took the next big step in his academic journey by enrolling in a PhD program at the University of California, Berkeley. He is currently in his second year at Berkeley AI Research, focusing on advanced research in artificial intelligence.
