Hailing from Maharashtra, IAS officer Abhay Daga is the son of renowned paediatricians Dr. Rajendra and Dr. Meena Daga. Speaking about his schooling, Daga completed his schooling at BVB Lloyds Vidya Niketan School in Wardha, before moving to Hyderabad for his intermediate education. Abhay then secured admission to IIT Kharagpur — one of India’s premier engineering institutes — to pursue his undergraduate studies. During his time at IIT, he discovered a keen interest in acting, which led him to actively participate in theatre and stage plays.
Interestingly, Abhay also appeared in the popular television series Siya Ke Ram, which aired on Star Plus. In 2018, he joined Microsoft as a Software Engineer, marking the beginning of a promising corporate career. However, driven by a deeper purpose, he decided to quit his job in 2021 to prepare for the UPSC Civil Services Examination. After nearly two years of focused effort and unwavering determination, Abhay successfully cleared the UPSC exam in 2023, securing an impressive All India Rank (AIR) of 183.
Speaking of his UPSC marks, Abhay secured 799 marks in the written exam, 179 marks in the personality test. Overall, he scored 978 marks in the Civil Services(Main) Examination, 2023.
