2 held for youth’s murder in Mandi village of Panipat
The Panipat police have claimed to solve the blind murder of an-18-year-old at Mandi village in the Israna area of the district. The victim’s cousin, who was living in the United States, reportedly gave a contract to a youth to kill Aryan and his family to grab their property.
The police produced the accused — Yukesh of Mandi village and Pradeep, alias Prince, of Rajpura village in Sonepat district — in the court from where they were sent to five-day police custody.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Lokender Singh said the CIA-2 team led by Inspector Phool Kumar arrested the two accused from Dahar chowk on Friday evening.
Aryan of Mandi village was found brutally murdered in the fields. More than two stab injuries were found on his body. Asha, mother of the deceased, in her complaint to the Israna police said his son had left the house on Wednesday at around 10 am. She further said Nishu, a cousin of Aryan, called him in the morning and went out with him. However, he didn’t reach home till late evening.
The SP handed over the investigation of the case to CIA-2 incharge Inspector Phool Kumar and his team. It was revealed during the preliminary investigation that Sahil, another cousin of deceased Aryan, had made the conspiracy to kill him to grab the property, the SP added.
Singh further said Sahil went to the US through ‘dunki’ route two years ago. Sahil lured his friend Yukesh of the same village to kill Aryan and his family and promised him to give Rs 10 lakh and one acre land. After getting the contract to kill Aryan, Yukesh contacted his cousin Pradeep and his friend Nikhil to execute the plan.
As per the planning, Pradeep and Nikhil came on a motorcycle to Mandi village on March 26 and after murdering Aryan in the fields, they fled the spot. Their next target was to kill Aryan’s brother and mother, the SP said. The accused, Yukesh, has a criminal record and he was planning to make his own gang to run an extortion racket, the SP added.
