Grand Shobha Yatra taken out on eve of Shri Ram Navami

JAMMU, Apr 5: On the eve of Shri Ram Navami, a grand Shobha Yatra was taken out with great pomp and show amidst religious fervour in Jammu City, here today.
A large number of people, prominent persons and representatives of various social, religious and political organizations took part in the procession, which passed through traditional routes of the Old City and concluded at Shri Raghunath Ji Temple.
Enroute, various market associations accorded warm welcome to the Shobha Yatra, which was taken out by J&K Dharmarth Trust in collaboration with Sanatan Dharam Sabha and Dharmik Yuvak Mandal.
The religious procession formally commenced with the Shobha Murti Poojan ceremony in the premises of Shri Raghunath ji Temple. Trustees of Dharmarth Trust- Ajatshatru Singh and Ranvijay Singh-along with the Trust’s President, Dr P S Pathania, and Secretary, Ashok Kumar Sharma presided over the Murti Poojan ceremony. This was followed by Rath Poojan and Dhwajarohan ceremonies, invoking divine blessings for the prosperity and well-being of all.
After passing through Residency Road, Rajinder Bazar, Kanak Mandi, City Chowk, Purani Mandi, Link Road, Jain Bazar, Chowk Chabutra, Pacca Danga, Moti Bazar, Gita Bhawan, Ranbireshwar Temple, the Rath Yatra again moved towards City Chowk, Raghunath Bazaar and finally culminate at Raghunath Ji Temple.
Earlier, that grand chariot of Lord Ram was taken out from Shri Sanatan Dharma Natak Samaj Deewan Temple. On reaching at Shri Geeta Bhawan Parade, Commissioner of Jammu Municipal Corporation, Devansh Yadav worshipped the chariot in the presence of Mahamandleshwar Rameshwar Das; Dr Gautam Mengi, State Sangh Chalak; Dr Vikrant Sharma, State Co-Sangh Chalak; Parshotam Dadhichi, President of Sanatan Dharam Sabha; Sat Sharma, State President BJP; Yudhveer Sethi MLA, Arvind Gupta MLA, Vikram Randhawa MLA, Anil Masoom, Ajay Gupta, Abhinav Sharma, Rajesh Gupta, Prabhat Singh, Sanjay Gupta, Arun Gupta (President Chamber of Commerce), Shakti Dutt Sharma, Anil Magotra, Subhash Sharma, Dilip Gupta, Atmaram Sagar, Vijay Kumar, Ashok Mahajan, Dr Sanjay Kaushal, Sanjay Kaul, Ashutosh and others.
Thereafter, this chariot proceeded further along with many tableaux and reached at Shri Raghunath ji Temple from where the grand Shobha Yatra formally began amidst beating of drums and chanting of religious slogans.
Tight security arrangements were made by the UT administration to ensure the peaceful and smooth conduct of the religious procession. Senior police officials were present throughout the route of the Shobha Yatra.
