Pune Traffic Police Claim They Give Loudspeaker Warnings Before Towing Vehicles From No-Parking Zones; Netizens Say ‘Not True’ (VIDEO)
In a video posted on Instagram, the Pune Traffic Police claimed that they regularly give three loudspeaker warnings before towing vehicles from no-parking zones.
Watch Video:
In the video, the traffic police are seen making announcements five times — three in Marathi, the fourth in Hindi and the fifth in English. The announcement states, "Anyone who has parked their vehicles in no-parking zones, please remove them immediately. Or else the vehicles will be towed and fines will be imposed." Despite making the announcement five times, the citizens did not move the vehicle. "What should the police do now?" they asked.
In the video, one of the cops says in Marathi, "Some people make videos after a vehicle is towed, but they don't show what happened before. The police make announcements before towing vehicles from no-parking zones. We are making this video to make people aware that there is odd and even parking on roads. Why do Pune people behave like this? Don't park your vehicles in no-parking zones; your vehicles won't be towed."
Meanwhile, X (formerly Twitter) users said they have never seen the police make such announcements.
"I have never seen or heard them make any such announcements recently," a user wrote.
Another user commented, "I may have dashcam videos of police towing or locking vehicles without any announcements!"
A third user said, "I have seen traffic police towing parked vehicles in no-parking areas countless times, BUT not a SINGLE time have I heard such an announcement made!!!!"
