US sent deadly B-2 stealth bombers to the Indo-Pacific region, 3 aircraft also deployed… Is Trump planning something big?
In a major military move, the US has deployed its largest ever B-2 stealth bomber fleet and three aircraft carriers in the Indo-Pacific and Indian Ocean region. This move has been taken at a time when the world’s attention is focused on President Donald Trump’s retaliatory tariffs. This military deployment is being seen as a clear message to countries like China and Russia in the region.
The Pentagon has deployed at least six B-2 stealth bombers at the Diego Garcia military base in the Indian Ocean. This base is a joint military base of the US and Britain. Satellite images have shown that these state-of-the-art aircraft have been parked on the runway of Diego Garcia. The US has a total of 20 B-2 stealth bombers, which are considered to be one of the most advanced military aircraft in the world. With this deployment, the US has sent about 30 percent of its B-2 fleet to the region, indicating a major strategic move.
In addition, the US plans to increase the number of its aircraft carriers in the Indo-Pacific region from one to three. Two of these aircraft carriers will be deployed in the Indian Ocean and one in the Western Pacific near the South China Sea. Washington has sent the USS Nimitz Carrier Strike Group to the Western Pacific, which sends a message to China that the US is serious about protecting its interests in the region. Also, aircraft carriers like USS Harry S. Truman and USS Carl Vinson are also active in the region.
Defense experts believe that such a large-scale deployment of B-2 bombers and aircraft carriers cannot be only for Yemen’s Houthi rebels or Iran. They say that two B-2 bombers, each capable of carrying a payload of 40,000 pounds, would have been enough to deal with the Houthi rebels. Experts speculate that this deployment has been done to deter major rivals in the region like China and Russia, which are considered allies of Iran, and to keep an eye on their military activities.
