5 Killed, 10 Injured After Mini Bus Collides With Stationary Truck In Karnataka's Kalaburagi
In an accident in the early hours of Saturday, five people lost their lives and several others sustained injuries after a minibus collided with a parked truck near Nelogi Cross in Jewargi taluk of Kalaburagi district, Karnataka.
The incident occurred around 3:30 AM when the minibus, carrying devotees from Bagalkote district en route to a dargah in Kalaburagi, rammed into a stationary truck on the roadside. According to police, the truck had been parked on the left side of the road due to a flat tyre, and its driver was in the process of changing it when the bus crashed into the rear of the vehicle.

The impact of the collision was severe killing five people on the spot. Among the deceased was a 13-year-old girl. Ten other passengers suffered injuries and were rushed to Kalaburagi Hospital, where they are currently receiving treatment.
Search On For Minibus Driver
Kalaburagi Superintendent of Police A Srinivasulu visited the accident site and confirmed that a case has been registered at the Nelogi Police Station. He also revealed that the minibus driver was thought to have fled the scene immediately after the accident. However, he was also one of the injured persons.
"The exact number of injured is still being examined," the SP added, as per a report on PTI.
The police have registered a case under section 106 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Further investigations are on.
