To implement the Ayushman Bharat scheme in Delhi, a formal agreement will be signed between the National Health Authority of the Government of India and the State Health Authority of the Delhi Government on April 5. Regarding this, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta held a meeting with ministers on Friday. The Ayushman Bharat scheme launched by the Central Government under the National Health Policy of 2017 has not been implemented in Delhi yet.

She asked the health department officials to take necessary steps to implement this scheme. The Ayushman Bharat scheme launched by the Central Government under the National Health Policy of the year 2017 has not been implemented in Delhi yet.

Poor families and the elderly will get free treatment of Rs 5 lakh

Under this, poor families and the elderly get the facility of free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh. The BJP had made it an election issue.

The party had announced in its election manifesto that if it comes to power, the Delhi government will implement this scheme along with giving additional health insurance of Rs 5 lakh.

Insurance cover up to Rs 10 lakh to the residents of Delhi

The Delhi government has set aside Rs 2,144 crore for this scheme, which will provide insurance cover of up to Rs 10 lakh to the residents of Delhi. Out of this, the Delhi government will bear the cost of Rs 7 lakh. Ministers Pravesh Verma, Ashish Sood, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Dr. Pankaj Singh and Kapil Mishra were present in the meeting.

Families with Antyodaya Anna Yojana will be given priority

Earlier, Health Minister Pankaj Singh said that one lakh people will be included in this scheme by April 10, which will improve the health services of the city. Under this scheme, priority will be given to the poorest families of Delhi, especially families with Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY).

Delhi’s health facilities will improve

Singh told PTI, “Ayushman Bharat Yojana will be implemented rapidly after the MoU is signed. Efforts will be made at the ground level so that the most vulnerable section of the society gets benefit.” He said that this will improve the health facilities of Delhi, patients will get improvement in primary care and health services will be strengthened. Patient records will be kept digitally, making monitoring and management easier. In the first phase, cards will be issued to AAY and priority families, then the scope of distribution will be expanded.
