Thane News: Ceiling Of Terrace Flat Damaged In Mumbra Due To Thunderstorm (VIDEO)
Thane: A room on the terrace of an eight-storey building was damaged in Thane's Mumbra due to a thunderstorm and duststorm on Friday, April 4. The incident occurred at around 3:30 PM. The room was located on the terrace of a G+7 building in the Thakurpada area of Mumbra.
After receiving information, about the false ceiling collapse, officials arrived at the incident site. There are no reports of injuries so far. The extent of the collateral damage is not known.
A fire fighter officer told ANI, "We received a call that the room on the terrace of a G+7 building in Thakurpada got damaged in the strong winds. We reached here with a team and saw that the room, whose owner is one Zubair Sayyad, was damaged and on the verge of collapse. Two teams are working here, and we are also getting help from people in the building."
Zubair Sayyad is the owner of the room. In the video that surfaced online, it could be seen that the Plaster of Paris (POP) of the ceiling collapsed. Walls of the room were also damaged.
The extreme thunderstorm and dust storm that hit Thane and Navi Mumbai on April 4 during the evening, with areas like Dombivli and Kalyan severely impacted by the strong winds. The storm occurred between 3 PM and 5 PM. A "nowcast" warning has been issued advising people to stay safe.
