GJUST online courses to tap students from remote areas, says VC
The Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE) of Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology (GJUST), Hisar, organised a meeting of the Centre for Internal Quality Assurance (CIQA) chaired by Prof Narsi Ram Bishnoi, Vice Chancellor, Dr Vijay Kumar, Registrar, including senior officials and subject experts were present at the meeting.
The Vice-Chancellor said the university would touch a new height in the field of digital education. A decision was taken regarding providing quality and accessible online education to the students, he said, adding that now even students from remote areas could pursue higher education from home. This would provide an opportunity to the the students of Haryana and Delhi NCR to complete their higher education, he said.
Bishnoi said the approval was accorded to start new online courses for the academic session 2025-26. The new online courses include master of arts (English), master of arts (Hindi), master of science (mathematics) and diploma in guidance and counselling. Along with these courses, all PG courses would be available in ODL as well as on the online mode. In addition to above, all PG courses approval has also been granted to start new diploma courses at the meeting. Diploma in artificial intelligence (AI) and diploma in cyber security will be started in these diploma courses. Apart from this, a new diploma course based on the teachings of Guru Jambheshwar Ji Maharaj will also be started. The agenda related to the syllabus and structure of the course has also been approved by the committee of experts. Permission has also been taken to prepare study material (SLM, E-LM, E-content, video lectures) of all above programmes. The minutes of the decisions taken in the last meeting were confirmed.
