Faridabad horror: Suitcase with woman’s torso found near village
Panic spread in Mawai village under Faridabad’s Khedipul police station area after a woman’s torso was discovered inside a red suitcase lying in roadside bushes on Wednesday. Police suspect the body may have been dismembered, as the head and legs were missing.
A senior police officer said the forensic team estimated the torso to be around a week old. The remains were taken into custody and sent to BK Hospital’s mortuary for further examination.
Crime Branch teams and local police are investigating the case, attempting to identify the woman through the suitcase and other clues. Authorities are also searching for additional body parts.
Inspector Naresh Kumar, SHO of Khedipul police station, said the victim appeared to be between 35 and 40 years old. Locals alerted the police after noticing a foul smell emanating from the suitcase. Upon opening it, officers made the grisly discovery.
DCP Central Usha Devi, who arrived at the scene with the Crime Branch, said, “The condition of the torso is severely deteriorated. The suitcase seems to have been dumped here about a week ago. We are questioning nearby residents for leads.”
The incident echoes two unsolved cases from Faridabad — a man’s body found in a suitcase near Police Line in April 2023 and a skeleton discovered in a suitcase in Aravalli forests on Pali-Surajkund Road. Police are yet to make breakthroughs in either case.
