Vet varsity hosts inter-college badminton, table tennis tourney

Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana, hosted the inter-college badminton and table tennis tournament. The event, organised at the Indoor Gymnasium of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana, saw participation from students across the university’s constituent colleges.

The tournament was graced by Dr JPS Gill, Vice-Chancellor, as the chief guest, alongside Dr SPS Ghuman, Director of Students’ Welfare. Dr Gill congratulated the players. He said sportspersons are ambassadors of team spirit, confidence, strength and dynamism.

The students competed with great enthusiasm and energy, showcasing the university’s commitment to fostering physical well-being and nurturing a competitive sports culture among its youth.

The tournament concluded on a high note with an awards ceremony, where the winners were honoured, and all participants were appreciated for their efforts. Dr JPS Gill, along with university officials, presented the awards to the deserving players.

In the Table Tennis (Men) category, Virat from the College of Veterinary Science (COVS) Ludhiana claimed first place, with Angad Singh from Khalsa College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (KCVAS) Amritsar finishing in second and Sachin from the College of Dairy and Food Science Technology securing third.

In the Table Tennis (Women) category, Priyanka Thakur from COVS Ludhiana took the top spot, while Jaisleen Kaur from COVS Rampura Phul finished in second place.

In the Badminton (Men) event, Ujjwal Garg from KCVAS Amritsar emerged as the winner, Gurbir Singh from COVS Ludhiana took second and Pushpinder Singh from COVS Rampura Phul finished in third place.

For the Badminton (Women) category, Jaismeen Kaur Malhi from COVS Ludhiana clinched first place, while Aditi from KCVAS Amritsar achieved second place.

Ludhiana
