Prepare time-bound action plans, CM Rekha tells govt departments
In her first major administrative review since taking office, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Friday held a high-level meeting with Heads of Departments (HODs) of the Delhi Government, setting the tone for a governance model centered on accountability, timely execution and public service delivery.
During the meeting, CM Gupta directed each department to prepare clear, time-bound action plans for the next 100 days, six months and nine months. Emphasising a result-oriented approach, she asked departments to create detailed working charts and submit regular progress reports to the Chief Secretary for real-time monitoring.
“All departments must set clear priorities and deliver results within stipulated timelines,” the Chief Minister asserted, warning that while diligent officers would receive full support from the government, any negligence would invite strict action. “There will be no compromise on quality or commitment,” she said.
A major focus of the meeting was to enhance the effectiveness of the public grievance redressal system. “Merely announcing schemes is not enough. Ensuring that their benefits reach the people on time is what matters,” CM Gupta said.
The Chief Minister specifically asked departments to show immediate progress in resolving key civic issues such as water shortage, waterlogging, pollution, availability of medicines and functioning of hospitals. She instructed health officials to ensure there are no shortages of diagnostic equipment or medicines across Delhi’s government hospitals.
Gupta reiterated her government’s zero tolerance policy on corruption, urging officers to maintain transparency in all official processes. “The public expects efficient and honest governance. Every official must deliver with integrity,” she said.
The meeting also covered reviews of budget utilisation, infrastructure development and core sectors like education, healthcare and transport. CM Gupta said each department’s performance would be closely tracked to ensure that the Delhi Government’s “Viksit Delhi” agenda remains on course.
Concluding the meeting, the Chief Minister said the trust placed by the people of Delhi must be honoured through visible and timely action. “If all departments work together with commitment, Delhi can be developed into a model city,” she said.
