This Muslim country hits JACKPOT, discovers 1000000 tonnes of…, set to become super rich, not Pakistan, Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Indonesia, its name is….
This Muslim country in Asia has discovered rare earth metals that can change its role in the global market. Kazakhstan has claimed that it has found its largest deposit of rare earth metals at the Kuirektykol site in the Karaganda region. Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Industry and Construction informed about the discovery, stating that it is considered a major step forward for the Asian country’s mining sector.
The Ministry stated that the Kuirektykol site has nearly one million tons of rare earth metals. These metals are crucial for making electronic items such as smartphones, electric vehicles, wind turbines, and even defence systems. These metals are in high demand globally as they play a crucial role in green technologies and modern electronics.
A rare earth element deposit, located approximately 300 kilometers southeast of Astana in the Karkaraly district, shows significant promise. Analysis of samples from the Irgiz and Dos zones reveals rare earth concentrations exceeding 0.1%, with some samples reaching 0.25%. Preliminary assessments indicate the Irgiz zone alone may hold roughly 800,000 tons of these elements.
Zhana Kazakhstan, encompassing the Kuirektykol area, is estimated to hold more than 20 million tons of rare earth elements, located up to 300 meters underground. This significant deposit includes valuable metals such as cerium, lanthanum, neodymium, and yttrium, averaging 700 grams per ton, establishing it as a globally significant source of these resources.
However, the country doesn’t have the technology or infrastructure to dig out the rare metals by itself, hence it is looking for foreign investments. Kazakhstan is also ready to form a partnership with other countries to help build the facilities needed for extraction.
If Kazakhstan manages to extract the precious metals, it could turn the country into a global leader in rare earth production. It could also reduce the dependency of the world on China, which currently dominates the rare earth market. The discovery is not only good news for Kazakhstan, but also for other countries that are looking for more reliable sources of these essential materials.
