HPU V-C launches book on AI in tourism
The Vice-Chancellor of Himachal Pradesh University (HPU), Prof SP Bansal, on Wednesday launched the book ‘Travel 4.0: Artificial Intelligence in the Modern Tourism Industry’, authored by Prof Nitin Vyas and Dr Preeti R Nagle from the Institute of Vocational Studies.
Speaking at the launch, Prof Bansal highlighted that the book presents a research-driven exploration of how Artificial Intelligence (AI) is reshaping the global tourism sector. It delves into AI’s role in travel planning, booking, hospitality services, transportation and customer behaviour, offering valuable insights into the industry’s transformation.
“The book discusses AI-powered chatbots, virtual assistants and predictive analytics, which enhance travel experiences by making them more personalised, efficient and seamless. It also addresses critical ethical concerns such as data privacy, automation versus human interaction, and responsible AI usage. With real-life examples, industry insights and expert perspectives, this book serves as a valuable resource for tourism professionals, researchers, students and businesses,” he said.
Prof Bansal congratulated Prof Nitin Vyas and Dr Preeti R Nagle for their significant academic contribution, calling the book a meaningful addition to both the tourism industry and academia.
