A total of 113 government school students from Kangra, Chamba, Mandi, Kullu, Una and Hamirpur are receiving free coaching for NEET and JEE in a nine-day winter boot camp at Dharamsala. The programme, running from March 28 to April 5, provides top-notch guidance from IIT and NIT teachers to help students excel in these national-level exams.

Held at Hotel Dhauladhar, a property of the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC), the camp hosts 62 girls and 51 boys from rural backgrounds. The initiative offers not only quality education but also a unique exposure to a well-facilitated learning environment.

The government has engaged the best coaching experts in the country to ensure students receive the right training and study material. According to Kanchan Jyoti, District Project Officer Samagra Shiksha, this initiative aims to provide a competitive edge to students preparing for JEE and NEET.

Out of 10,000 students who appeared in a statewide screening test, the top 250 were selected, and 113 are currently undergoing rigorous training at Dharamsala. They are accommodated in prestigious HPTDC-run hotels like Dhauladhar, Yatri Niwas, and Kashmir House, making it a memorable experience for them.

Manan, a 10+2 student from GSSS Nurpur, expressed confidence in the coaching, stating it had helped him improve for JEE. Samridhi Thakur from GSSS-Jogindernagar praised the excellent arrangements and study material, hoping it would aid her in clearing NEET.
