PM to kickstart air services from Hisar to key cities on April 14
Preparations are in full swing for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Hisar on April 14, where he is set to inaugurate flight services from the newly developed Maharaja Agrasen Hisar Airport. According to sources, the Prime Minister will flag off the first direct flight from Hisar to Ayodhya, following approval from the Airports Authority of India (AAI).
The inaugural flight, a 72-seater aircraft operated by Alliance Air, is scheduled to depart from Hisar at 10:40 am, and land in Ayodhya by 12:40 pm, significantly reducing travel time between the two cities to just two hours.
State authorities have begun extensive preparations for the event, with the district administration assigning key responsibilities to ensure smooth execution. Hisar Superintendent of Police Shashank Kumar Sawan has been tasked with overseeing security, law and order, and traffic management.
Sources said that besides Ayodhya, Hisar will soon have direct air connectivity to Delhi, followed by Jaipur, Jammu, Ahmedabad, and Chandigarh. “Alliance Air Aviation Limited, which has signed an MoU with the government for flight operations, has already started setting up its office at Hisar Airport. Online ticket booking services will be available soon,” a source said.
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini visited the airport on March 31 to review preparations for the Prime Minister’s arrival. He directed officials to expedite pending work and ensure that all necessary arrangements are completed on time.
Meanwhile, a successful trial landing of an Alliance Air ATR-72 aircraft has already taken place at the airport, signalling readiness for commercial operations.
