Bombardier Global 8000: Travelling between major world cities can be a hectic affair, especially for frequent flyers. But imagine travelling from New York to London in a luxurious private aircraft which has all the top-of-the-line facilities money can buy, and flies at supersonic speeds, crossing distance between the two cities within a span of just 4 hours!
Well, for select individuals who can afford such a luxury, Canadian aircraft maker, Bombardier Aviation has built a luxurious supersonic private jet, capable of travelling at blistering supersonic speeds.

‘Supersonic’ private jet
Bombardier Aviation has introduced the Bombardier Global 8000, touted as a ‘supersonic’ private jet, which is capable of flying at Mach 0.94 speeds, or around 1158 kilometers per hour (720 mph).
The Bombardier Global 8000 has all the luxuries one would imagine in a luxury private airliner, including fully-stacked kitchen, a private theatre, a lavish bedroom, multiple bathrooms with showers, and an anti-jet lag lighting system.
According to Bombardier Aviation, the Global 8000 is designed for long-distance flight, and can fly non-stop on long routes such as Dubai to Houston, Singapore to Los Angeles, and London to Perth.
The Bombardier Global 8000 will cut the travel time of the 3,459-mile journey from London to New York to less than four hours, if the $80 million receives approval for commercial travel.
Fastest civilian aircraft
Notably, the Bombardier Global 8000 will be fastest civil aircraft since Concorde, the world’s only successful supersonic passenger plane, if approved to fly commercially. According to Jean-Christophe Gallagher, chief of aircraft sales at Bombardier, “8,000 passengers around the world would be able to “reach destinations farther and faster than ever before”.
“Passengers around the globe will soon be able to board a plane that is being purpose-built to be the fastest and longest-range flyer in history, setting the standard for commercial aviation,” the Canadian aviation firm said in a statement.
Bombardier Global 8000 capacity
As per the company’s statement, the Bombardier Global 8000 will have a seating capacity of 8,000 passengers. The luxurious jet also has a special cabin with 17 seats, measuring over 50 feet in length.
There are also ‘four spacious suites’ for privacy, each with a full-size double bed, a sofa and a stand-up shower.
Other facilities
Apart from beds and luxury showers, the Bombardier Global 8000 also has a fully-stacked kitchen offering lunch and dinner to passengers with table service, where they can get drinks and snacks at any time during the flight.
The jet also has high-speed internet, allowing passengers to remain connected throughout the flight,
Additionally, the aircraft also a separate enclave where 55-inch 4K TV is installed for passengers to enjoy movies and games at an altitude of 50,000 feet, the company said.
