Bengaluru Man’s Job Hunt Struggles Goes Viral On LinkedIn; Check The Post Here

Job hunting is a challenging journey, but for Prashanth Haridas from Bengaluru, the struggle to secure employment over the past three years has led to a dramatic and heartfelt expression of frustration. Taking to LinkedIn, Haridas shared a candid post where he voiced his disillusionment with the job market, criticising recruiters for "ghosting" him despite his efforts. In an unusual move, he even posted what he called an "obituary" for his job search, reflecting the emotional toll of his prolonged unemployment.

"Thank you, LinkedIn, for everything. Thank you, industry leaders, for ghosting and ignoring me. Thank you for making me spend money on self-grooming so you can ghost me. Apologies for my posts and ranting. I know with this post none will hire me, no matter how good I am or the recommendations I have received," Haridas wrote.

His post struck a chord with many, highlighting the often-overlooked frustrations faced by job seekers in a competitive market. Alongside his post, Haridas shared a photo of himself with the words "Rest in Peace" written above, symbolizing the fading of his hopes and the emotional toll of his prolonged job search.

After receiving an outpouring of concern from LinkedIn users, Prashanth Haridas clarified that his post was not a cry for help but a symbolic expression of his frustration with the job market.

"I'm not gonna kill myself. Have a lot of things to do, cuisines to taste, and places to visit. Just dead, trying to get a job, fix things, and be with the love of my life. Being unemployed for close to 3 years and being isolated is very hard," he explained.

Haridas' heartfelt message quickly went viral, drawing hundreds of responses from professionals, recruiters, and fellow job seekers who offered support, empathy, and encouragement.

One LinkedIn user wrote, "Your feelings matter. Job searching for 3 years in today’s competitive market is tough ,many are struggling, even highly skilled pros like you. Ghosting is common now. Sadly, many face radio silence from employers ,it’s not about you, it’s a broken hiring trend. Your skills are valuable. Localisation, translation, and project management are HUGE in today’s global, remote-friendly workplaces (OTT, media, tech!). The job market is slow, but niches like yours are growing. Companies need linguists for global content ,your time will come. Take pride in your resilience. Surviving 3 years of unemployment? That’s strength. Celebrate your small wins. Lean on your passions. Travel, food, and goals will keep you grounded while you navigate this phase. Note: Request to take down your girlfriend or your loved one name from this post, as this is public site, It's not a dignity to expose. Wishing you hope and better days. The right door will open.”
