The court determined that the recruitment was fraudulent, with candidates being placed unfairly through bribes and manipulation, putting qualified candidates at a disadvantage. Dr. Patra emphasized that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) must conduct a thorough inquiry into the matter. He accused the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress (TMC) government of hindering investigations and making baseless accusations against the CBI and Enforcement Directorate (ED) when the matter came to light.
