Govt to procure 250 fire-fighting vehicles, 13 hydraulic platforms

The Fire and Emergency Services Department of the Haryana Government is set for a major upgrade with the 250 new fire- fighting vehicles and 13 hydraulic platforms proposed to be procured in the current financial year.

Besides, an amount of Rs 29 crore will be spent on establishing a state-level Fire Training Institute over 25 acres in Kheri Masania village of Jind district, Financial Commissioner Revenue (FCR) Sumita Misra said.

Currently, 504 fire vehicles of various categories and 202 motor cycles with fire equipment are available in the various fire stations.

The Fire and Emergency Services Department was merged with Revenue and Disaster Management Department on January 1, 2023.

For providing timely and proper fire emergency services, 3,776 posts of various categories are sanctioned in which 43 posts are for Directorate of Fire and Emergency Services, Haryana; 24 for Fire Training Centre, Manesar and 3,709 for various fire stations.

Currently, 109 fire stations are functional in Haryana, out of these 4 fire stations have been newly created.

A plan budget of Rs 261 crore and a non-plan budget of Rs 112.47 crore has been earmarked for the department in 2025-26 fiscal.
