Maruti Suzuki Says Cars To Become Costlier From April 8, Customers Will Have To Pay Up To Rs 62,000 More For Grand Vitara

Indian automaker, Maruti Suzuki, on Wednesday shared details about the revisions expected in its car prices. Issuing an official filing, the company said that the new prices will be effective from April 8, 2025.

The automaker further explained that this decision to hike up vehicle prices has been taken due to several factors such as increase in costs, expenses, and to manage policy changes. Further, the company said that it aims to safeguard the customers from the impact of these changes, but it has to relieve some of the pressure.

“Due to rising input costs, operational expenses, regulatory changes and feature additions, the Company has planned to increase car prices starting on 8tr' April, 2025. While the Company is committed to optimise costs and reduce the impact on its customers, the Company is constrained to pass on some of the increased expenses to the market,” Maruti Suzuki said in its statement.

Sharing the details of the price revisions, the automaker said that the maximum hike is being made to its Grand Vitara, which will see its price increase by up to Rs 62,000.

Along with Vitara, the company’s Ertiga model will also become more expensive by up to Rs 12,500 for the consumers. The firm noted that these increases are being informed in relation to the ex-showroom price of the vehicles.

In addition to Maruti, other automakers like Tata, Mahindra and Mahindra, and Hyundai have also announced that they will be hiking the prices of their vehicles from April. The companies have explained that increasing input costs and operational expenses are the key reasons behind the price increase.
